Hey Y’all!
Hello and happy Saturday! Another beautiful Spring day in the Ozarks. It is a warm 87 degrees this evening but there is a light breeze and feels nice in the shade. The animals are all doing very well on the farm today. We were up and out early this morning, off to the market. After the shenanigans yesterday, we didn’t have time for our normal market prep we do on Friday evenings. We moved a bit faster this morning to try to get morning rounds and market prep complete. Only a few minutes behind, we felt good as we were driving to town. About halfway there, I realized that we didn’t refill the freezer from last week’s market. DOH! Why are we rushing? To get to the market. Why are we going to the market? To sell pork. Where is the pork? In the freezers in the barn. Good grief. We decided not to turn around and see what all we had when we got there. It turns out, we had plenty of stuff to sell. We had to say we were sold out of a few things by the end of the market, but that was better than another round trip. We chatted with lots of folks and have some potential new milk customers. We bought another duck from Lazy Duck Pastures as we really enjoyed our duck meal last week. The top pic is our new market shade tent with awnings on the front and back. It really made a difference to have the additional shade. The next pic is a cool frog that was hanging out on the cow pens. It is a Gray Tree Frog. The last two are the sheep, calmly grazing in their new paddock. The animals don’t even know that the Mayor lost control yesterday and all is back to the calm, serene, laid-back Ozark reality we have come to know and love. I hope you are all having a great weekend and I wish all of the fathers out there a very happy Father’s Day tomorrow!
Cheers!
